Chiropractic And Smartphones - Increasing Communication
Did you know the telephone and chiropractic were discovered at nearly the same time in our country’s history? The phone, discovered by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876 and chiropractic, discovered by Dr. D.D. Palmer in 1895 have both made tremendous advancements over the years and have helped increase communication between people and within our own bodies.
Over the last several decades in particular, technology has increased greatly allowing for a massive increase in use of both the telephone and chiropractic care. I remember as a child using the phone in my grandparents’ house where I would hold the receiver for listening and speak into the phone on the wall. Steve Jobs had advanced our use of phones radically before his death and today we have computers we call smartphones that can practically run our lives for us! Today, there are more phones on the planet than people! Chiropractic care has also seen a meteoric rise in popularity and utilization and is now the largest non-drug based healing art outside of western medicine. With the advent of gentle instruments and non-surgical spinal decompression tables, it is possible to help many more people, even those with advanced spinal degeneration including spinal stenosis, sciatica and bulging/herniated discs.
The part that both phones and chiropractic have in common, lies in the ability of each to help increase communication. The phone of course helps us increase our rate and efficiency of communicating through calls, texts, email, etc., and chiropractic increases the communication between your brain and body. Did you know the neurologist often measures nerve- communication with diagnostic tests? EMG and NCV diagnostics reveal the amplitude, speed and efficiency of the nerve impulses travelling throughout your body. Chiropractic care involves the examination of the spine to detect and correct vertebral subluxation (misalignment) that causes nerve-interference in the body. The chiropractic adjustment as well as non-surgical decompression restores normal communication in the body and not only reduces pain signals but also improves nerve conduction for proper function to all cells tissues and organs affected.
While western medicine has made great advancements in the treatment of sickness and disease with drugs and surgery and modern smartphone devices have accelerated the proliferation of information and communication, chiropractic shares these qualities and then some as the only means of detecting and correcting the CAUSES of the interference to communication in our bodies.
